WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.
Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.
NAME: Bulldozie
BREED: English Bulldog
AGE: 3 years old
Home Recommendation: Bulldozie is a big girl with a lot of love to give! She only has one eye, so she is very cautious and easily startled by noise or things outside her range of vision. However, when given lots of love, Dozie is very trusting and eager to learn! She would do well in a quiet home and would thrive having another doggy sibling to keep her company.
Personality: Dozie had a rough start to life; she was kept in a cage solely used for breeding. Despite this, she is so loving and accepting of any affection you have to offer. Bulldozie is getting along great with her foster brother and sister! She loves to play with them. An ideal day for Dozie is spent sleeping on the couch and having infinite pets. She is a true couch potato companion. Bulldozie is good when meeting new people, although she may be a little cautious at first.
KIDS: Yes, above the age of 16 since she can be startled by loud sounds
DOGS: Yes! She does great with other dogs and would thrive having a playmate.
CATS: Unknown
TRAINING: Dozie is in need of a family who will continue to socialize her and build up her confidence. She is learning how to walk on a leash and slowly but surely getting the hang of it. She gets spooked by loud noises which can halt her in her tracks. She is working on her house training. She is not destructive when left alone.
WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Bulldozie was used for breeding her whole life at a puppy mill. After they decided she was no longer useful to their breeding 'program' they were going to kill her. WISE could not let that happen and saved this lovebug!
