WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation: Sabrina is a playful pup who would love to find a family to snuggle up to. She is sweet and smart, and needs to find a home that will help her find her confidence, help her come out of her shell.

Personality: Sabrina’s favorite thing to do is play! She is a playful, spunky girl who would thrives on toys and tug-of-war. Sabrina takes time to warm up to new people, but once she warms up, she’ll cuddle right up.

KIDS: Yes, recommended 6+ in order to be mindful of her training and socialization

TRAINING: Sabrina sleeps in her crate at night, and stays in her pen area when her foster family is out. She is loving leash walking, catching on to house training fast, and quick to learn basic commands. She is treat motivated!

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Sabrina were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
