Meet Arkham: part house panther, part fragment of the abyss, and no more than 12% demon (on a good day). That still adds up to 100% character!

Looking for a lap cat who loves belly rubs? That is not Arkham. This black mystery cat has opinions and boundaries, and he will let you know when you cross one. He communicates like a pro: a flick of the tail, a shift in pupil size, or a subtle head tilt that says, “enough.” Arkham is not mean; his nips are polite, and his play is gentle, if you listen when he says stop. Though missing a few teeth (including one upper canine removed due to dental pain), he is much happier without them.

Arkham human loves company, on his own terms. He believes a sleeping human is safe, and will curl up with you at bedtime, lick the tip of your nose a few times, then sleep soundly beside you. He often snoozes on his foster mom’s desk while she works. Arkham will play when his trust is earned; with strings, fabric mice, and the occasional dramatic leap to chase a bug.  And he has learned to love chin and cheek scratches, and ear rubs.

Arkham needs a calm, adult-only home with cat-savvy humans who respect his independence; a secure catio would be a big plus! Dogs are a hard no, but he could live with adult cat(s) who give him space. Kittens? No thanks. What Arkham wants is a person or family that sees him, appreciates him, and lets him be exactly who he is: an intelligent, strong-willed, and occasionally cuddly creature.
