WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. DOB: Nov 24, 2020 (4 years 2 months)

Home Recommendation: Stormy would be happiest in a calm, adult-only home, ideally with a retired couple who wants to spoil him and take him on nice, leisurely walks. He loves people (especially men!) and enjoys being the center of attention. He would do fine as the only dog in the home or with another easygoing dog.

Personality: Stormy is a loving, affectionate pup who adores people and gets excited when visitors come over. He enjoys snuggling up and being close to his humans. He loves going on walks and patrolling the neighborhood but is just as happy curling up on the couch. He enjoys playing with toys and makes a fantastic work-from-home companion, often curling up by your feet. 

KIDS: 13 and older, as he can be sensitive to unexpected touches 

DOGS: Does well as long as he has a proper introduction in a calm setting. He loves to play chase and will get the zoomies!

CATS: Unknown.

TRAINING: Stormy walks well on a leash and loves going for walks. He needs some work on mealtime habits, as he has been picky about eating since transitioning into his foster home. He does well in his crate after some initial protest and is house-trained, though he may need a little adjustment period in a new home. He’s still working on being comfortable with having his feet touched and certain quick movements.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE? Stormy was surrendered after his human dad unexpectedly passed away, and his family could no longer care for him.
