Meet Misti, the only dog we've ever had from the Bahamas!  Yep, you heard that right!  Misti must have some guardian angels looking out for her.  She was flown to the US to receive treatment for her heartworm.  Thats where we need your help. Its best she go through treatment in a home where its calm and quiet.  But first, a bit about Misti. 

Misti is 2-3 years old and weighs 45 lbs.  She looks like some kind of retriever mix. When Misti came to us we expected a skinny, shy dog.  Well she must have received great care in her journey to the US because this gal is smart, friendly, and pretty darn athletic!  She learned “paw” in three tries and she somehow knows sit and down (she either already knew it or just knew what we wanted her to do). She will be super easy to train. Our girl went to an event and discovered the joys of pizza.  She will steal yours when you are distracted!

Heartworm treatment is completely paid by us.  There are three visits to our vet for the treatment so we do need her foster to be in central ohio.   Its a 3-4 month long process and the key is keeping her quiet and relatively inactive.  This involves lots of petting, very short walks, and fun "brain games."  She seems pretty quick to catch on to new things so we think these games should quickly become a fav.
