Frieda

Golden Retriever

4 months, Female, Medium

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Frieda

BREED: Mini Goldendoodle

DOB: May 31, 2025

SIZE: when fully grown 30-40lbs

Home Recommendation: As a young pup still learning the ropes, Frieda will thrive in a home where someone is around more often to guide her through training. She’s a smart, affectionate, and moderately active doodle who will blossom with playtime, structure, and socialization.

Personality: Frieda is the definition of a happy-go-lucky puppy! Outgoing, confident, and full of love, she adores everyone she meets—especially kids (she’ll even happily join in dress-up games). She’s playful, people-oriented, and quick to learn, making her both a fun and affectionate companion.

KIDS: Yes

DOGS: Yes currently being fostered with them

CATS: Yes

Training:Like all puppies, Frieda is still working on her potty training, but with consistency and routine, she’ll pick it up quickly. She sleeps in a crate at night and is already showing how smart and eager-to-please she is.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Frieda were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
