Meet Dakota — a gentle giant with a sweet soul.

At 78 pounds and about 4–5 years old, Dakota is a handsome shepherd mix with a kind, sensitive personality. He can be a little shy at first, but once he settles in, his friendly and affectionate nature really shines.

Dakota recently attended his first adoption event and did great. While he was a bit nervous initially, he quickly relaxed and enjoyed meeting visitors. He was social with other dogs and showed just how polite and easygoing he can be.

For such a big dog, Dakota is surprisingly easy to handle on leash and doesn’t pull much at all. In fact, a teen volunteer was able to walk him comfortably during the event.

Dakota also loves toys — especially rope toys and squeaky toys — which quickly bring out his playful side. After some fun, though, he’s just as happy to relax and hang out near his people.

Dakota is a gentle, loyal boy who will thrive with a patient family willing to help him continue building confidence.
