Sonic

Shih Tzu

3 months, Male, Small

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Sonic

BREED: Shih Tzu x Bichon Frise

DOB: June 24, 2025 (11 weeks)

MEDICAL: Sonic is blind in one eye so he will need a family who will go slow with him and introduce him to new things at a comfortable pace.

Home Recommendation: Sonic is a total lovebug who would do best in a home where someone is around more often to help with his puppy training and socialization. He’ll flourish in a calm, caring environment where he can soak up attention and feel safe.

Personality:This little guy has never met a stranger-he adores everyone he meets! Sweet, affectionate, and kiss-happy, Sonic is the ultimate lap dog. He loves to cuddle, snuggle in close, and shower his people with love.

KIDS:  above the age of 6 due to his small size and blindness

DOGS: Yes

CATS: Yes

Training:Sonic is a quick learner! He sleeps wonderfully in his crate at night and walks nicely on a leash, happily joining you for short strolls. He’s still working on potty training, but with structure and consistency, he’ll catch on in no time.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Sonic was rejected specifically because he was blind in one eye. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
