Selena Pawmez

Rat Terrier

3 months, Female, Small

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Selena Pawmez

BREED: Rat Terrier x Jack Russell Terrier

DOB: Jul 25, 2025

GENDER: female

Home Recommendation:Selena is a young, energetic pup who would love a family that can give her plenty of playtime, structure, and snuggles! She’s a confident, happy-go-lucky girl who enjoys spending time with both people and other dogs, so a home where she’s not left alone for long stretches would be ideal.

Personality:Selena is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly — she’s ready to be your adventure buddy by day and your snuggle partner by night. She loves everyone she meets and never turns down an opportunity for belly rubs or kisses. Whether she’s chasing toys, exploring the yard, or curling up on the couch, Selena does it all with her signature tail wag and big smile.

KIDS: Yes

DOGS: Yes! She loves other dogs and would love to have siblings she can wrestle and play chase with.

CATS: Unknown

Training: She is doing well with her leash walking and will be ready to strut her stuff! She is working on her crate training and house training but getting better each day.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Selena Pawmezwere rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
