WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

BREED: Yorkshire Terrier

DOB: Aug 9, 2015 (10 years 2 months)

Home Recommendation: Bone Jonas would do best in a quiet, relaxed home where things stay calm and predictable. He absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive with a friendly canine companion to play and cuddle with. A home with another well-socialized dog would help him feel comfortable and confident. His ideal family will be patient and understanding, giving him time to settle in and build trust. A calm environment with people who can offer gentle guidance, structure, and consistency will help him continue to blossom.

Medical: Bone Jonas has a collapsed trachea that will need to be monitored, but at this time he’s a happy, healthy pup who doesn’t let it slow him down one bit.

Personality: Bone Jonas a sweet and confident boy who loves to cuddle and be close to his people. He enjoys attention and affection and has a gentle, loving nature that makes him easy to fall for. Whether he’s snuggled up next to you or showing off his happy personality, he’s sure to bring warmth and joy to any home.

Training: Bone Jonas sleeps comfortably in his crate through the night and is making great progress with potty training and leash walking.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Bone Jonas spent his entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When his "breeders" decided they no longer had a use for him, they planned to discard him. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue him, giving him a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now he’s ready to start that new chapter!
