WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation: Riley and his best friend Lola, are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. These two sweethearts are ready to spend their golden years in a calm, loving home where they can relax, snuggle, and enjoy a peaceful routine.

Personality:Riley is silly, sweet, and full of love. He’s happiest when he’s with his people and is generous with kisses. He’s also very devoted to Lola-he gently checks on her, and is the leader of the two of them. He is the more outgoing one, while Lola is more quiet. While both pups are low-energy, they enjoy a quick burst of playtime together each morning before settling back into snuggle mode. They adore being close to their humans and make wonderful, affectionate companions.

MEDICAL: Riley takes daily heart medication for a heart murmur. He will need echocardiograms 1-2 times a year to monitor his condition to ensure he remains comfortable and well-managed.

Training: Riley and Lola are fully house-trained. At night, they sleep soundly in their dog beds. They adjust well to household routines and enjoy being part of family life.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE :Riley and Lola were surrendered after their owner experienced a change in living situation and could no longer care for them. They are now thriving in a foster home and are ready to find the forever family who will love them both.
