WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation:Nutter Butter is a total lovebug who would thrive in a home with plenty of time for play, affection, and continued training.

Personality:The best things come in small packages, and Nutter Butter is proof! He’s an easygoing, gentle pup who adores spending time with his people and aims to please. Whether he’s wrestling with his doggy foster siblings, snoozing belly-up in his bed, or proudly carrying around a favorite toy, Nutter Butter is pure joy. He’s discovering the fun of puppyhood — from walks around the neighborhood to car ride adventures — and he’s loving every minute of it!

Training: He's making great progress with potty training and leash walking. He sleeps in his crate at night and do best with structure and consistency.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Nutter Butter were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
