WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation: Snowbaby finds the most comfort when she can sleep right next to her person to feel calm and safe. She is a sweet, sensitive girl who can be startled by loud noises and would thrive with a calm, patient companion who can offer her security and peace as she enjoys her golden years. As she continues to settle in, she will do best with a patient adopter who can go with the flow, offer reassurance, and provide a consistent, comforting routine as she builds confidence in her new home. Snowbaby would thrive in a home with another dog, as she loves to follow their lead and picks up on training quickly. She’s a sweet, smart pup who’s ready to continue blossoming in a loving home.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Snowbaby spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her "breeders" decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now she’s ready to start that new chapter!

Personality: Snowbaby is a gentle little shadow who loves to follow her person from room to room when she isn’t catching up on her naps. She is slowly learning to trust, becoming more comfortable with people and allowing pets and being picked up. Despite her calm nature, she has surprising bursts of speed and enjoys short zooms around the house.

Training: Snowbaby is doing so well! She has an amazing appetite and is a quick learner who’s already making great progress with pee pad training. She has also started walking on a leash and is gaining confidence every day. She feels best being near her person at night. She has recently shown a preference for sleeping in a soft travel playpen rather than a traditional crate, and she is most comfortable sleeping on a blanket on the floor or tucked into a small corner instead of a dog bed. She will need additional time, consistency, and patience as she continues to learn and settle into a routine.
