Meet Memphis 

Memphis is a 3-year-old, 48 lb mixed breed with a Lab/hound look and just a hint of shepherd in those expressive ears—and a gentle, thoughtful personality to match.

He came to Canine Collective from Tennessee and is still learning that new people and places can be safe. Memphis isn’t going to rush up for attention—but if you give him a moment and meet him at his level, you’ll start to see his curiosity and sweetness come through. He does best with slow, low-pressure interactions. Standing over him can feel overwhelming, but sit down and let him come to you, and he’ll inch closer, sniff, and quietly start to connect. It’s those small moments that show just how special he is.

Memphis arrived with his more confident friend Winnie, and while they aren’t bonded, he clearly gains confidence from another steady dog. A calm canine companion in his future home could really help him continue to grow. He’s still working on leash skills and can be unsure at first, but he’s already shown that with patience, he settles in and walks nicely. He just needs someone willing to go at his pace.  Memphis is a “watch first, join later” kind of dog—and those are often the ones who form the deepest bonds.
