Rosa

Miniature Schnauzer

7 years, Female, Small

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Rosa

BREED: Miniature Schnauzer

DOB: Nov 10, 2018 (7 years 4 months)

Home Recommendation: Rosa would do best in a calm, patient home with someone gentle who can help guide her as she continues to come out of her shell. She is the kind of dog who will truly blossom with time, love, and understanding, forming a deep and meaningful bond with her person. With the right support, Rosa is going to grow into a beautiful, affectionate companion who brings warmth and quiet joy to her home. She just needs a family willing to go at her pace and show her the kindness she deserves.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Rosa spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her "breeders" decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now she’s ready to start that new chapter!

Personality: Rosa is such a little sweetheart who is learning new things every day! She has a calm, gentle nature and a loving personality that makes her easy to adore. She prefers to quietly take in her surroundings and observe the world around her. Rosa is the kind of dog who will form a deep bond with her people as she continues to gain confidence and feel safe in her environment.

KIDS: Yes

DOGS: Yes

CATS: Yes

Training: Rosa is still learning the basics and will thrive with a gentle, patient person to guide her—especially with leash walking and her potty routine. She’s doing very well in her crate and is comfortable settling in there. She’s making steady progress each day and just needs consistency and encouragement to continue building her skills.
