Charlotte

Domestic Shorthair

a year, Female, Medium

Charlotte is the kind of cat who makes affection feel extra special. Once she decides you are her person, expect her to follow you everywhere with happy little chuffs, enthusiastic headbutts, and a rumbling purr. When you settle, so will she, either within sight of you or as a petite, biscuit kneading lap warmer.

Charlotte has already been through more than most cats. She was found abandoned in a remote area while heavily pregnant and barely beyond kittenhood herself. She safely raised her babies, and now it is finally her turn to be cherished—not as a mother, but simply as Charlotte.

This sweet girl may be reserved during initial introduction, but she warms up quickly to a gentle approach. Earning Charlotte’s trust is a lovely reward: she wants to be close, share cuddles, and remind you with every headbutt that you are loved. But her forever human will need to respect this kitty's cues, particularly the "pause, please" clawless tap. Charolotte can become so delighted by petting that she occasionally needs a brief reset. Give her a moment, and she will let you know when she is ready for more.

And then there is Charlotte’s famously cute back leg, which is shorter than the other. Scratch her chin and neck on that side and watch for the irresistible little leg twitch; it is one of her signature moves.

Charlotte is looking for a home where she can be the one and only cat—and the center of someone’s heart. She would be an especially lovely match for a patient person who wants a devoted lap cat and understands that the best relationships sometimes begin with a little trust-building. Charlotte has finished raising her family; now she is ready to find her own.
