WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation: Dekka would thrive in a home that offers a balance of playtime and relaxation. Dekka has a fun, energetic side and enjoys short bursts of play—especially with other dogs—followed by plenty of time to unwind and cuddle on the couch. A home with another friendly, playful dog would be especially beneficial, as it would help meet their social needs and provide a built-in playmate. Dekka would do best in a home where someone is around often, as they form strong bonds and enjoy companionship. Overall, an ideal home would offer both opportunities for play and a cozy space to relax, giving this sweet pup the best of both worlds.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Dekka spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her "breeders" decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now she’s ready to start that new chapter!

Personality: Dekka is a playful and social pup who enjoys spending time with other dogs and would happily engage in games and companionship. While she has her fun, energetic moments, she equally loves to relax and cuddle up on the couch with her people, soaking up all the affection she can get. She’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly, making her a wonderful companion. When it’s time to wind down, she settles comfortably on her puff bed, where she enjoys resting and recharging for her next adventure.

Training: Dekka is still learning how to walk on a leash and will need continued patience and positive reinforcement as she builds confidence. At this time, going outside can feel overwhelming for her, as loud noises tend to scare her, so slow introductions to the outdoors will be important. She is currently using pee pads and reliably goes potty on them, showing a good foundation for future house training with consistency and routine.
