WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.
Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.
NAME: Bussin
BREED: French Bulldog
DOB: May 1, 2020 (6 years)
GENDER: male
Home Recommendation: Bussin would thrive in a loving home with a family looking for a calm, low-energy companion. He absolutely loves kids and enjoys spending time with his people, whether relaxing indoors or playing outside in the yard. Bussin would do best in a home without many stairs, as his shorter stature makes stairs difficult for him, and he cannot jump onto couches or furniture on his own. He is the perfect match for someone looking for an easygoing dog who enjoys companionship, outdoor time, and a cozy place to relax by your side.
Personality: Bussin is a friendly, easygoing dog with a calm and mellow personality. He is very low maintenance and rarely ever barks, making him a peaceful companion to have around the house. Bussin enjoys spending time outside playing in the grass, but once he comes back inside, he is happy to relax and lounge nearby. He is still learning how to play with toys and has started to really enjoy his ball and squeaky toys. Bussin currently lives with children around 10 years old and absolutely loves being around them, showing how gentle and family-friendly he is.
KIDS: Yes, loves them!
DOGS: Yes, loves them!
CATS: Unknown, but cat test can be done for approved adopters
Training: Bussin is doing wonderfully with crate training and has already developed a great routine. He happily puts himself to bed in his crate and stays quiet and relaxed until the morning. He will also rest comfortably in his crate during the day for naps. Bussin is making steady progress with leash walking, but using a harness has been helping him gain confidence and has shown improvement. House training is still a work in progress, but he is doing well and continues to make positive strides with consistency and routine.
WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Some large-scale breeding programs occasionally have dogs and puppies they are unable to place due to medical needs, birth defects, appearance differences, or simply because there is not enough demand. WISE partners with groups working to help provide these dogs with a second chance rather than an uncertain future. We are committed to rescuing and caring for dogs of all kinds — healthy, medically fragile, senior, or those with special needs — and giving them the love, safety, and opportunity they deserve.
