WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation:  

Because she bonds so deeply with her people, Sugar Cookie needs  a home where she won't be left alone for long hours every day. A family with a flexible schedule or someone who works from home would be her perfect match. 

Sugar Cookie is an active, fun-loving girl who is always ready for her next adventure. Whether it's hiking scenic trails, long neighborhood walks, trips to the park, camping weekends, or riding shotgun on a road trip, she's happiest when she's included. She's not a dog who wants to be left behind—she wants to experience life right alongside her family.

Her ideal home is one that enjoys a very active lifestyle and is excited to share adventures, big and small, with their dog.

Personality: 

This sweet girl truly lives up to her name—she's as sweet as can be! She loves everyone she meets and believes every stranger is just a friend she hasn't made yet. Sugar Cookie gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, is great with cats, adores children, and is happiest when she's surrounded by the people and pups she loves. She requires a lot of physical and mental exercise, from her family or another playful dog in the home.

She loves curling up on the couch after a fun filled day with a bully stick, tossing around her favorite stuffed toys, and claiming a cozy spot in your lap while you binge your favorite shows. Give her just a few minutes, and she'll be rolling over for belly rubs as if she's loved you forever.

Training: 

Sugar Cookie  is housebroken to the outside and needs someone to continue with her housebreaking skills (using a crate ) enjoys going for walks, and is comfortable walking on a leash. She also was Ok for short periods of time in a crate for housebreaking. She is a high jumper and can scale most inside gates  .

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE : 

Sugar Cookie  was surrendered when his owner experienced medical issues and could no longer care for her. 

She lovingly raised two beautiful puppies and was the most devoted, patient, and nurturing mama anyone could ask for. Her babies are ready for their own happily-ever-afters...and now it's finally Sugar Cookie's turn to be someone's baby.
