Meet Clara, a 5-year-old spayed female Bernese Mountain Dog with the sweetest smile and the gentlest soul. Weighing 70 lbs, Clara is a mellow, affectionate girl who is happiest when she's close to her people. She loves attention, enjoys quietly exploring the world around her, and has mastered the famous Berner Paw—if you stop petting her too soon, she'll politely remind you that she's not finished yet!

Clara has come a long way from her mill dog past. She's curious, eager to learn, and seems to have excellent recall and listens well. With the right family and continued training, she may even do well without a fenced yard, although a safe environment is always important.

🏠 Her Ideal Home:

• A family looking for a calm, loving companion

• Fenced yard preferred, but not required with appropriate training and supervision

• Can live with another friendly dog or be happy as the only dog if she gets plenty of human attention

• All ages welcome

• Low prey drive (cats unknown, not tested)

• Very attention-motivated and affectionate

• Sweet, mellow personality with a goofy side

• Curious and enjoys sniffing and exploring new places

• Gets along well with men, women, children, and other dogs

• Can be left home alone and does not require a crate

• May whimper if confined behind a closed door or in a crate due to some barrier anxiety

• Occasionally startles with fast movements but continues to gain confidence

• Has the cutest human-like smile where she shows her teeth

Clara doesn't need constant excitement to be happy. She's content relaxing with her family, taking leisurely walks, exploring new sights and smells, and soaking up all the love she missed out on. She has so much affection to give and is ready to become someone's loyal best friend.
