WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation:  

As a young puppy, she requires a home where someone who works from home or is not out for long periods of time to help her learn and grow.

She will thrive with plenty of physical exercise, mental enrichment, and opportunities to explore.

Like all puppies, she will need patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as she learns house training, leash training basic obedience, and good manners.

Personality: 

This spirted little diva is full of personality, confidence, and love! She has a proud, fearless little strut and a lively spunk that makes her impossible not to notice. Whether she’s chasing a favorite toy, exploring her surroundings, or simply enjoying some playtime, she approaches life with confidence and enthusiasm. She greets her humans with a happy, tail-wagging attitude and plenty of affection. Her resilient, active nature means she’s always ready for her next adventure.

Training: 

She is currently using wee-wee pads when indoors, but like any young puppy, she will need continued house training to learn that potty time happens outside. Keeping her in a puppy pen or other appropriately sized, supervised area when she can't be closely watched will help her stay consistent with her potty routine and set her up for success. She will also need basic obedience training, leash training, and continued socialization to help her grow into a confident, well-mannered companion. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she will thrive and become a wonderful member of the family.

Some large-scale breeding programs occasionally have dogs and puppies they are unable to place due to medical needs, birth defects, appearance differences, or simply because there is not enough demand. WISE partners with groups working to help provide these dogs with a second chance rather than an uncertain future. We are committed to rescuing and caring for dogs of all kinds — healthy, medically fragile, senior, or those with special needs — and giving them the love, safety, and opportunity they deserve.
