WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation:  

As a young puppy, she requires a home where someone who works from home or is not out for long periods of time to help her learn and grow. A fenced in backyard or a park near by would be a dream come true for this playful pup

She will thrive with plenty of physical exercise, mental enrichment, and opportunities to explore.

Like all puppies, she will need patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as she learns house training, basic obedience, and good manners.

Personality: 

Sweet little Croquet is as cute as they come! This happy, playful girl loves her tiny toys and will even fetch them and bring them back for another toss. She adores being with her people, will happily follow you around, and loves lounging in the grass on a sunny day.

Medical: She will be spayed at approximately 6 months of age

Training: 

She is currently using wee-wee pads when indoors, but like any young puppy, she will need continued house training to learn that potty time happens outside. She not a fan of being in a crate but if in a small room or x pen she will use her crate with the door open

Keeping her in a puppy pen or small gated room when she can't be closely watched will help her stay consistent with her potty routine and set her up for success. She will also need basic obedience training, leash training, and continued socialization to help her grow into a confident, well-mannered companion. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she will thrive and become a wonderful member of the family.

Some large-scale breeding programs occasionally have dogs and puppies they are unable to place due to medical needs, birth defects, appearance differences, or simply because there is not enough demand. WISE partners with groups working to help provide these dogs with a second chance rather than an uncertain future. We are committed to rescuing and caring for dogs of all kinds — healthy, medically fragile, senior, or those with special needs — and giving them the love, safety, and opportunity they deserve.
