Belmar

Miniature Schnauzer

4 months, Male, Small

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Belmar

BREED: Miniature Schnauzer

DOB: Apr 28, 2026 (16 weeks)

GENDER: Male

HOME RECOMMENDATION: Belmar would be a wonderful addition to a loving family looking for a sweet, easygoing companion. He immediately adapted to his foster family and has been doing wonderfully with eating, sleeping, and playing. This adorable fluff ball is affectionate, happy, and seems ready to settle right into his forever home. A family who will shower him with love, attention, and plenty of cuddles would be a perfect match for Belmar!

MEDICAL: Belmar was seen by our vet for his cloudy eye and is currently on drops to see if they will help improve.

PERSONALITY: Belmar is an absolute sweetheart with a playful and affectionate personality! He loves to do a full belly flop and simply melt onto the floor, which is just too cute. He enjoys exploring, playing, and being held, and he loves interacting with both the kids and the other dogs in his foster home. Belmar is a happy, social pup who enjoys being part of the family and is sure to bring lots of love and fun to his forever home.

KIDS: Yes

DOGS: Yes

CATS: Yes

TRAINING: Belmar is doing a great job with his training and is already showing some wonderful progress! He likes his crate and will happily spend time there relaxing or sleeping. He also did great during his car ride and handled the experience without any problems. He is learning how to walk on a leash and is getting better each day. Potty training is also underway, and he has already successfully peed and pooped outside. With a consistent routine and continued positive reinforcement, Belmar should continue to make great progress!

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Some large-scale breeding programs occasionally have dogs and puppies they are unable to place due to medical needs, birth defects, appearance differences, or simply because there is not enough demand. WISE partners with groups working to help provide these dogs with a second chance rather than an uncertain future. We are committed to rescuing and caring for dogs of all kinds — healthy, medically fragile, senior, or those with special needs — and giving them the love, safety, and opportunity they deserve.
