WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

HOME RECOMMENDATION: Siobhan would do well in a calm and loving home where she can take her time settling in and enjoy plenty of one-on-one attention. She is comfortable being around other dogs, although she does not seem particularly interested in playing with them and is happy to simply wander around and do her own thing. Siobhan is food motivated and enjoys being held, petted, and showered with affection. A family looking for a gentle companion who enjoys relaxing and being close to her people would be a wonderful fit for her.

PERSONALITY: Siobhan is the sweetest little Chihuahua with a gentle and loving personality. She is very calm and enjoys being close to her people. She would make a wonderful little companion for someone looking for a calm and cuddly dog.

TRAINING: Siobhan is settling in nicely and did wonderfully overnight. She slept comfortably in a dog bed in her foster’s room and slept peacefully through the entire night. She is adjusting well to her new routine and continues to show that she is a calm and easygoing little companion.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Some large-scale breeding programs occasionally have dogs and puppies they are unable to place due to medical needs, birth defects, appearance differences, or simply because there is not enough demand. WISE partners with groups working to help provide these dogs with a second chance rather than an uncertain future.
