Kay Cee

Poodle

3 years, Female, Small

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Name: Kay Cee

Breed: Poodle

Age:  2 years old

Gender: Female

Why did she come to WISE? Kay Cee was rescued from a horrible puppy mill situation where she was used for breeding most of her life. When she was determined "unfit" to be used in their 'breeding program', they were going to euthanize her. WISE wasn't going to let that happen and saved her!

Home Recommendation: Kay Cee is looking for a home that will work on building her confidence and give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. She is such a wonderful, deserving dog who is ready to shine! She just needs some extra love and patience. She would benefit from another confident dog to help show her the ropes! She would do best in a quiet or low activity home for her couch potato lifestyle.

Personality: Kay Cee is a sweetheart who just wants to be near her favorite people! She is timid and shy, but once you gain her trust, she really shows you how much love she has to offer! Kay Cee is the ultimate snuggle buddy! She uses her small size to curl up perfectly next to you on the couch. She is very calm and happiest when receiving pets and being in your company. When she is in a spunky mood, she will even show her playful side, which usually is her finding a sock to play with (yes, she will give them back). She is making significant strides in her foster home everyday and with time, patience, and lots of love, we know this girl will reach her full potential!

Kids: Above the age of 13 since she can be startled by quick sudden movements

Dogs: Yes! She would do well with a doggy sibling

Cats: Unknown

Crate Trained: She will bark for a few minutes but then settles down and does nicely.

House Trained: Working on it!

Training: She is learning how to walk on a leash and getting better with practice!
