5 years, Female, Extra Large
Minnie is a very sweet and somewhat shy rescue girl. Minnie spent the first years of her life in a commercial breeding kennel so she's still learning how great life can be! She will need time to adjust to her new home, but she’s a love once she is comfortable. She really loves getting pets and romping around in the fenced in backyard! She’s not much of a snuggle pup, but will sit next to you for ear scratchings. She loves walks and does well on a leash. She also enjoys a car ride! Minnie was initially VERY timid and scared. Given time in her foster home she has acclimated well to their pack and joins in whatever activity is going on. Minnie would do well with at least one larger fur sibling to follow. She gets along well with other dogs. MInnie doesn't care for cat's so we are seeking a home without cats. She will fixate on them and chase them.
She LOVES outside!
Minnie does not do well in a home with young children. All the noise and quick movements make her nervous. She'll do best in a calm, quiet home with people that are home often and having another calm dog friend to be with is a main requirement.Minnie will need a home that understands her life has been extremely harsh, so there are many things that are new and terrifying for her. She had to learn how to eat out of a bowl, was terrified at the groomer, isn’t sure if she believes in needing to be brushed yet, and new people have to earn her trust. She doesn’t like loud noises or being cornered. Minnie does well home alone if contained in an area. She FREAKS out in a crate so that is not something to try and have her learn. Minnie is housebroken, spayed and fully vetted.
We do adopt out of state, you must travel to her foster home in Holland MI to adopt though!
