WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Big Reg

Home Recommendation: Get ready to welcome the biggest goofball into your home – Big Reg! Reg is an easy-going, chill dude who is looking for a family to love him endlessly. Reg would do well in a home that can provide him with a full life and ease him into new experiences. He needs a patient family who will continue to work on his basic training. 

Personality: Big Reg is a silly, playful boy who has a BIG heart – all he wants is to spend time by his family’s side and give kisses. He is gentle, and good with kids and strangers who stop by. He is getting used to the outside world and would love for someone to help to ease him into feeling more confident outside. He gets along great with other dogs, and when he isn’t playing with another dog, he keeps himself busy with his toys.

TRAINING: Big Reg is working on his leash walking skills and potty training. When he goes in his crate, he barks initially but then settles down and does well.  

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Big Reg spent his entire life being used for breeding at a puppy mill. When he arrived at WISE, he had the largest hernia the team had ever seen—evidence of the neglectful conditions he had suffered. No longer useful to the puppy mill’s breeding operation, they were going to euthanize him. But WISE stepped in and rescued him, along with several other former breeding dogs.
