Louie is a young 1 year old mixed breed who has the coloring and stocky build of a rottweiler, but is only about 40 lbs.  Our breed identifier apps show him as a rottie mix, but only a DNA test will prove it.

This sweet boy makes great eye contact with people, is good on the leash, and is food motivated.  This bodes well for his trainability!  He knows sit, touch, and we're working on down, stay, and wait.  He loves to be with people and will climb on your lap if you let him!  We think he would do great with kids too;. He is also has the makings of a good rearranger.  He does not destroy items, he just thinks they belong elsewhere, such as dog beds and your glasses.  He may need slight coaching to get in the car initially, but once in, is a perfect gentleman in the back seat.  He did great in his previous foster's fenced in back yard.  He didn't dig at all nor try to escape.  Hurrah!

Louie was great at his photo session - was very into hugs and kisses, was fine posing with Halloween costumes, and had a blast.   We got lots of photos with him leaning into the photo assistant's lap for kisses. This affectionate boy was not happy going back into his crate cause he wanted more lovin and attention!  He also attended an event at a petstore and charmed everyone with his good nature.  This boy is quickly becoming a volunteer favorite.

Louie has done well with other dogs, but may be abit too active of a playmate for an older dog's liking.  He would do well with a younger dog to play with. He has been around his rescuer's cats and has done well with assertive cats who let him know  (with a hiss or a swat) if he is too active or playful.   He does like a good game of chase if the cats run but more in a playful way than wanting to do harm.
