WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

Home Recommendation: Ladybug is a mellow girl looking to find a laid back home that can provide her with lots of love and comfort.

Personality: Ladybug is mellow and sweet, and likes to hang out and watch the action from afar. She is good with kids, but would prefer a family that can be gentle with her given her age. She loves to be cuddled and scratched, and be apart of the family.

KIDS: Yes, 6+ recommended

TRAINING: Ladybug can go for short walks on leash, sleeps soundly through the night in her bed or crate, and is potty trained being that she is an adult dog.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Ladybug were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
