Arkham

Domestic Shorthair

7 years, Male, Medium

Are you looking for an easy cat, one that will curl up in your lap and purr?  One that is gentle and loving, and lets you pet their belly? If so, close your eyes and look away, because Arkham is NOT the right cat for you.  We have had this 6+ year old, solid black cat tested, and he is part house panther, part fragment of the void, and guaranteed not more than 12% pure demon. Arkham has limits, and he will tell you when you reach them. A cat-wise person will listen. When the mood strikes him, Arkham loves to have his head and neck scratched, and his ears, and especially under his chin - until he does not any longer.  Cat savvy people will notice the way Arkham looks at them - the tilt of his head, the swish of his tail, and the dilation of his eyes - and they will stop before Arkham nips them. Arkham is not mean - he does not bite hard, and he controls his claws during play - he just uses his three remaining canine teeth to "communicate".  One upper canine, and several other teeth, were removed due to periodontal disease when Arkham was brought to Meow Village.  He is a much happier cat without the tooth pain!  We believe Arkham's forever home needs to be with one person or a couple of human adults who understand cats, who can pay attention to Arkham's signals, and who will respect his space and his individuality.  Arkham has indicated he would prefer to be the only cat in the household - and he is not at all tolerant of dogs.  On his own terms, Arkham is a wonderful cat: intelligent, companionable (he sleeps on his foster mom's desk while she works from home), and even playful (Arkham loves to get under things like blankets and curtains, and will chase strings and sometimes balls or fabric mice). He even loves to curl up in bed with a human for sleeping - more likely against your legs rather than in a proper cuddle, but he prefers to be with you!  His favorite snack is freeze-dried minnows, though he is also a fan of fishy Churu flavors.  Arkham is currently on a limited-ingredient diet because of a sensitive GI system; his foster can provide more information.  If you want to learn more about adopting Arkham, please reach out to his foster Tanya by text only at 503.317.4728.

NOTE: Meow Village is an all foster based rescue, so any questions and inquiries related to the kitties should be directed to their foster families. Thank you!
