Canelo is a nervous dog just trying to find his way in this world. He opens up when he has a friendly and confident dog to go through life with. He can be shut down in most new scenarios, walks well on the leash, is reserved in the kennel, and prefers that any new people approach him slowly and respectfully. He takes time to warm up to new people and seems to trust women more initially - but can and has also bonded with men. He loves his foster dad!

His foster wrote this for him - Canelo “Nelly”, is one sweet boy. he wants to make his people happy it just takes him a minute to adjust and relax. Once he feels comfortable, he is ready to be your adventure, buddy during the day and your cuddle buddy at night. He loves having dog friends around to teach him the ropes, and a nice window to sunbathe. Canelo loves a comfy bed with lots of blankets and toys and bones to enjoy. Canelo is very well kennel trained, house trained, good with other dogs, does not like cats, and would enjoy a home with not too much foot traffic.
