WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Mist

BREED: Cocker Spaniel

DOB: Apr 5, 2025 (10 weeks)

Home Recommendation: Since Mist is young, she will need someone home more often than not to spend time playing, socializing, and training her. She would thrive with an active family who can take her on lots of fun adventures!

Personality: Mist is a loving, playful pup with a curious nature and a love for the outdoors. She’s always up for an adventure and lights up every room with her charm. She adores people and other dogs, quickly becoming your little shadow. Mist is a total lovebug and will happily snuggle up in your arms whenever she gets the chance until it's time for another round of play or chase with her doggy frineds.

CATS: Yes

TRAINING: She is working on her crate training and potty training. Since she is young and small, she requires frequent bathroom breaks. She is learning to walk on a leash and, with continued practice and consistency, will catch on quickly.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. WISE saved Mist and her siblings, along with their mom, after they were going to be killed simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
