WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.
Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.
NAME: Chi Chi Hadid
BREED: Chihuahua
DOB: Mar 15, 2023 (2 years 7 months)
Home Recommendation: Chi Chi would thrive in a calm, experienced home familiar with Chihuahuas or small breeds. She’d do best in a quiet suburban environment without young children, as loud noises can startle her. This sweet girl has endured a lot in her short life and needs a patient family who will help her confidence grow and show her what it means to be truly loved
Personality: Chi Chi is an easygoing little lady who enjoys life at her own pace. Once she’s comfortable with you, you’ll become her person and she loves cuddling and soaking up your company. She has a playful side and loves collecting toys to bring into her crate-it's her favorite cozy hangout! She enjoys calm, peaceful walks and is learning to take in the world without fear. Though she’s still discovering the joys of “being a dog,” she’s already showing what a gentle and loving spirit she has.
KIDS: Yes, 13+ as she gets startled by loud noises
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Yes
Training: She walks well on a leash but may be startled by sudden sounds. She loves her crate and uses it as her safe place. She is working on her potty training but with a consistent schedule, she will get the hang of it!
WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Chi Chi Hadid spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her "breeders" decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her, giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now she’s ready to start that new chapter!
