WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.
Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.
NAME: Maggie
BREED: French Bulldog
AGE: 10 years old
GENDER: Female
Home Recommendation: Maggie would thrive in a loving, stable home that offers reassurance as she adjusts to life’s recent changes. She is a well-rounded, socially calm dog who can happily live with other dogs or be the only pet in the home. Her easygoing nature makes her a wonderful fit for seniors, families with respectful children, or adults looking for a steady companion. She is naturally chill and enjoys a peaceful environment where she can relax and feel secure. A home that provides consistency, gentle affection, and patience will help her continue to build confidence and settle in beautifully.
Personality: Maggie is a very curious little girl, especially if she thinks treats might be involved. She loves being by your side as much as possible and truly thrives on cuddles and gentle pets. While toys don’t seem to interest her much, she is perfectly content relaxing nearby or enjoying a tasty reward. Maggie can’t jump up onto couches or beds on her own, but she has been learning to use the stairs so she can climb up for snuggles. The couch has quickly become her favorite place to hang out, especially when it means being close to her people.
KIDS: Yes, she lived with children all her life
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Yes
Training: Maggie prefers to nap beside her people, but she is comfortable settling in her crate. When someone is busy, she will go straight there on her own. She is generally house-trained and continues adjusting to apartment living, learning to make it all the way outside before going potty. She has made steady progress, with only a few accidents. On leash, Maggie does pull at times, but she is working on it and improving with consistent guidance and practice.
WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE : Maggie was surrendered after their owner experienced a change in living situation and could no longer care for her. She is now thriving in a foster home and is ready to find the forever family who will love her.
