Tenner

French Bulldog

3 years, Female, Small

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Tenner

BREED: French Bulldog

DOB: Jun 3, 2023 (2 years 10 months)

Home Recommendation: Tenner would do best in a calm, patient home with someone who understands that building trust takes time. She is still very hesitant with humans but has already shown that she can form strong bonds once she feels safe. Tenner will need a consistent routine and a gentle, reassuring approach to help her continue gaining confidence. A home with easy outdoor access would be ideal, as she loves being outside, and a family willing to work with her on leash walking and navigating stairs will help her thrive. With patience and understanding, Tenner has so much potential to blossom into a loving and loyal companion.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Tenner spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her "breeders" decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now she’s ready to start that new chapter!

Personality: Tenner has a lively and energetic personality and loves to be part of the action. She is constantly by her foster's heels alongside her foster sister, always curious about what’s going on. Tenner enjoys playing with toys, getting the zoomies, and soaking up attention from other dogs. She has a lot of energy and can get so excited that she sometimes needs help slowing down, benefiting from quiet time to relax and decompress.

KIDS: Yes

DOGS: Yes, she loves to play with her foster sister

CATS: Yes

Training: Tenner is still learning the ropes and will benefit from continued training and a consistent routine. She does best in a crate when it is covered to create a calmer environment. She is making progress with leash training each day, though she can be a bit independent and prefers to go her own way—using treats has been a helpful motivator. Tenner is not yet house trained, but taking her outside immediately after crate time has been effective, and with a structured schedule and patience, she is expected to continue improving.
