WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Bori

BREED: Shih Tzu, Yorkshire Terrier, and Chihuahua mix

DOB: Dec 29, 2025 (19 weeks)

GENDER: Male

Home Recommendation: Bori is a loving and loyal dog who truly thrives on companionship. He would do best in a home with another friendly dog to help him feel confident, comfortable, and engaged. Bori also prefers a family where someone is home more often than not, as he loves being close to his person and enjoys constant companionship. Whether he’s relaxing by your side, following you from room to room, or cuddling up for quiet time, Bori’s happiest moments are spent with the people he loves. He would make a wonderful addition to a home looking for a devoted and affectionate companion.

Personality: Bori is a smart, sweet, and playful pup with a loving personality that quickly wins people over. He enjoys having fun, exploring, and spending time with his people, but he also has a soft and affectionate side. Bori absolutely loves to cuddle and is happiest when he can curl up next to you for attention and comfort. His combination of playful energy and gentle affection makes him a wonderful companion for a family looking for both a fun and loving dog.

Medical: Bori has a deformed leg, but it does not slow him down or prevent him from enjoying everyday activities. He gets around well, plays happily, goes on walks, and keeps up with normal routines without any issues. Bori does not let his leg affect his joyful and loving personality, and he continues to live a happy, active life.

Training: Bori is fully potty trained and prefers to go potty outside, though he will also use wee wee pads if they are available. He does very well on walks and enjoys getting outside to explore with his person. At night, Bori loves to cuddle up with his person or another dog and sleeps soundly through the night. He settled in nicely into a home routine, making him an easy and enjoyable companion to have around.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE : Bori was surrendered after their owner experienced a change in living situation and could no longer care for him. He is now thriving in a foster home and is ready to find the forever family who will love him.
