WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. 

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

HOME RECOMMENDATION: Ship Bottom would thrive in a loving home that is ready to enjoy all the fun, energy, and learning that comes with raising a puppy. He is playful, curious, and would love a family who can provide plenty of attention, playtime, and opportunities to explore and discover new things. With patience, consistency, and continued training, Ship Bottom will grow into a happy, confident, and wonderful companion.

PERSONALITY: Ship Bottom is an adorable, playful little boy with a fun and silly personality. He loves chasing after toys and is especially excited when there’s a squeaker involved! He has a great time playing with both kids and other dogs and is always ready for some fun. Once playtime winds down, Ship Bottom is happy to curl up in your lap or relax at your feet for a cozy nap. He’s the perfect mix of playful energy and sweet cuddles!

TRAINING: Ship Bottom is still working on his leash skills and will continue to improve with practice and encouragement. Ship Bottom is also making great progress with potty training at home and is learning to consistently do his business outside. With continued patience and consistency, he will keep building his skills and be ready for many fun adventures with his forever family.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Some large-scale breeding programs occasionally have dogs and puppies they are unable to place due to medical needs, birth defects, appearance differences, or simply because there is not enough demand. WISE partners with groups working to help provide these dogs with a second chance rather than an uncertain future. We are committed to rescuing and caring for dogs of all kinds — healthy, medically fragile, senior, or those with special needs — and giving them the love, safety, and opportunity they deserve.
