*FIV Positive*

Halo is a sweet and chunky boy who loves to talk! Halo started his life outside with a colony of other cats, fighting for food. But, Halo is a lover and not a fighter and he wasn't made for outdoor life. He was rescued and is now ready to meet his forever family. Halo is a little shy at first but with a little patience, he is quick to warm up (especially with treats!). Halo loves to be pet and is easy to hold. Halo is comfortable around adults and older children, but younger kids might make him a little nervous. Halo hasn't met any dogs but he would be happy in a home with other cats, or as a solo prince! Halo is only five years and has many years of love to give!

**FIV is not a big deal! And it is not a death sentence! FIV is a virus and once contracted, remains in the cat for life. BUT, FIV+ cats can and do live long and healthy lives, just like any other housecat! FIV cannot be transmitted to humans, dogs, or any other animal. And, FIV is only transmitted through deep bite wounds, blood transfusions (rare), or from mother to kitten (also rare). FIV+ cats can enjoy a home with non-FIV+ cats as long as they are all non-aggressive. They can share food, toys, and litter boxes. They can groom each other, snuggle, and play together. Most cats with FIV rarely require special care, just the same love and medical care as other cats.**
