Templeton

Bernese Mountain Dog Mix

7 months, Male, Large

I am Templeton and I am a LOVE!! Rescued at 5 months old with my litter-mates, I am the perfect blend of Bernese Mountain Dog and Lab, with the gentleness and snuggling and generous kisses that come with those breeds. I am looking for my very best friend.

I’m 52 pounds, six months old, and have been neutered and all vaccinated.

I love arranging and snuggling with blankies. There was that one that sprung a leak and covered me with white feathers. That was really fun!

I want to be close to my person, and will wait patiently for you to come outside with me, yes, even if it is raining. Inside, I love to snuggle up next to you on your bed, or couch and give you lots of kisses. I will sleep next to your bed, but I prefer to be on it next to you, with my own blanket.

Dog siblings are great, too, especially when they will wrestle and let me chase them around the yard! I’ve been a big help tiring out my high-energy one year old foster BMD. I would be a great fit for a younger dog looking for a new best buddy.

People say I’m smart, and I will learn training quickly. Of course, they are right.

Crates? Yuck! Maybe I will tolerate one if you cover me up with a blanket. But, I really don’t like them. I may have escaped twice when my foster Mom only closed one of two latches. Who is Houdini??

When my people go away, I cry at the door for a minute, then go nap with my foster siblings. I’m usually on the floor or in a dog bed because I haven’t figured how to get up on the couch by myself yet.

Potty training has been going pretty well, but there have been a few “accidents”. So tell me, if I get praised after I pee outside in front of my foster Mom, shouldn’t I also get praised when I pee inside in front of my foster Mom?? They say I’m a work in progress.

I’m getting much better on my leash, as long as you don’t try to put me in the car by myself. I learned this trick to lie flat on the ground. I know where that car goes…the vet!!! .

Food glorious food!!! You can feed me all day if you want to. I am very thorough, and check out all the dog bowls to see which has the best food. If I can, I’ll eat from two or three at once. I’m just tall enough to reach the “dog bowls” when they are on the table and no one is looking. Last week I got to try chili!

If you are a gentle snuggler who likes to feed me good food, is looking for a bestest friend, and would take really good care of me, maybe you can be my forever family.

I am located in Birmingham, MI you will need to come to my fosters to meet me and adopt me. The rescue doesn't arrange for travel for meet up.
